Hey thank's for the response guys. We do have the tether points in the rear and there are two short tethers hidden in the rear of the center console. We don't have the tethers for the rear though.but its for an infant seat with detachable base so there aren't any tether points on it. The Trooper manual says to twist the seat belts at least two twists to make them shorter, but the carseat book says to make sure the belts are not twisted. We put the carseat in the center back seat (which doesn't actually seem to be centered) and did twist the shorter side of the seat belt and got it buckled in. But we had to re-route the longer side of the belt between the seat hinges and twist it 90 degrees.

That doesn't seem right. Wouldn't that put strain on the belt? Flydex28 wrote:At least I dont think the carseat has the tether attachment points. I guess i dont even know what to look for.1st timer here. Are those tethers to convert it to the Latch system? Wait Jerry are you talking about that optional third row seat.I dont have that.

NO THEY ARE ATTACHED RIGHT NEXT TO THE CARGO TETHERS THAT ARE ALLREADY IN THERE, THERE WERE NEVER ANY THIRD ROW SEAT AVAILBLE FOR THE FACTORY IN THE U.S, LOOK AT THE REAR CARPET VERY CARE FULLY RIGHT UP CLOSE TO THE BACK OF THE BACK SEAT AND YOU WILL SEE A VERY LIGHTLY CUT SECTION ON THE CARPET ONE ON EACH SIDE IN THE FLOOR WHERE IF YOU CUT THE PIECE ALL THE WAY OUT THESE BOLT ON, ONE EACH SIDE WITH A PIECE OF TUBING TO MAKE IT STAND UP ABOUT THE CARPET AND THEY ARE ANGLED AT ABOUT A 30 DEGREE ANGLE. TO ATTACH THE TYE DOWNS FROM THE INFANT SEAT. DOWN TO A SECURE SPOT, I THINK THERE ARE FOUR OF THESE SPOT SO THAT YOU CAN TYE DOWN TWO INFANT SEATS. AND NOT TRY AND USE THE CARGO TYE DOWNS. If it does it will attach to something in front of the seat not behind.

Otherwise don't worry about it and just use the lap belt over the base. I have put all styles of seats in my Trooper using the belts and they work great you just need to crank em down. Currently my 4 year old and 2 year old are in their seats in the very back of our QX56 and it does not have the LATCH system back there so I still need to run the belts. My 3 month old son is in his infant seat in the middle row which does have the LATCH system. I do everything in my power not to have to move those damn seats to another vehicle or remove them period.

Seat

One day my wife asked me to remove all the seats so she could drive her friends around. Well I was going to post some pictures but photo bucket is stupid.I crop a picture, re-size it and save, and then it reverts back to the original.anyway.My trooper came with the side tether points already installed but I found the cutouts in the carpet Jerry was talking about.

Mine would only need the center carpet cut away if I needed to add that center bracket. I'm assuming I will probably have to use them eventually on a later car seat.

Sounds like Jerry has them though if I need them. Thank you sir. So did you need to twist the seat belt 'stalk' to make it shorter in order to get it to work.

The Trooper manual says to twist it a couple times.the car seat manufacturer says to make sure the seat belt is not twisted. I am thinking maybe they mean don't twist it as it goes around the car seat.
