The backhoe is still sitting in the driveway. I'm not sure what to do with it. The guy who had it before me, welded a home made subframe to the 3pt hitch brackets. The backhoe is only a 7 1/2 foot model and my tractor is an 05 50hp. MX5000 'special utility' model. The kubota dealer I've done alot of business with, said the tractor is plenty strong enough to handle this backhoe on the 3pt.

With all the posts I've read regarding 3pt. Hitch mounted backhoes, I'm really reluctant to have someone cut the home made subframe off the 3pt. Hitch brackets. If I try to use the home made subframe bracket, who knows when I'll figure out what I'm going to do to modify it to make it fit. Would I be making a mistake making the backhoe a 3pt. I figure I could have a welder with a cutting torch come to the house and cut the subframe off in an hour or so.

Also, I got a price for rear remotes for the tractor to run the backhoe. They gave me over $800.00 installed. He said about $700.00 if I do it myself. All it looks like is, I need 2 tee fittings to tap into the loader supply / return hydraulic fittings, 2 long hoses to run to the rear of the tractor, and 2 female kubota quick disconnects.

Any insight on this? Anyone do it themselves? I would go back to a 3pt mount, but that is me. Not my fault if it wrecks something. img/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif/img I have a Kelley 8' older model on my 85 hp tractor so I don't worry. A good utility tractor of 50 hp should - I say should - be ok with it.

How much weld is on it, an angle grinder might get you there? You cannot Tee into hydraulic lines. That will fail. Tractor hyd don't work that way. You can uncouple your loader, plug in hoses back to the backhoe. This of course is a major pain, as one wants to use the loader most of the time when backhoing. You can plumb it up with shutoffs I suppose, but it gets to be a mess, and all the piping & valves rated to 2500 psi get to be $$$ too.

You can find the proper access port (a power byond port most likely - where the $800 setup would be ported from) and plumb a dedicated line from there back to your backhoe. This will always cycle oil, and needs to be shut off or coupled together when nothing is attached to it, & it will have no control lever of it's own - not useful for anything other than your backhoe.

Kinda depends on how your tractor & how the backhoe is set up to make this work, so ask someone smarter than me. The $800 won't look too bad after a while, and the rear remotes can be handy for other things. Be aware of the open center & closed center hyd systems, and be sure your backhoe is set up to be the same as your tractor.
